Community FAQ's

THE GROUNDS

Q: Why do the Map APPS direct people to the Cook Ranch Entrance?

A: We do not know. Multiple people have tried multiple ways and times to contact GoogleMaps and get this corrected to no avail. We are still working to get this updated. In the meantime, use the Guard House address for deliveries and guests.

8800 Team Ranch Road, Benbrook, 76126.

Q: What is the code to the pedestrian gates? A: 8800 – press CLEAR if it does not work.

A: YES! Click on the blue icon above or click here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/LaCanteraN2N/

A: You sure can and LaCantera has it’s own boundaries. Within the NextDoor APP go to Settings, Privacy and click LaCantera only (if you don't want to see surrounding areas).

Q: How do I get the monthly newsletters?

A: You must sign up through the La Cantera Homeowners Portal. www.townsq.io

Your account number can be found in the introduction letter from Goodwin or contact tiffany.barton @goodwintx.com

Q: How do I sign up for the Town Square Portal.

A: Log into the Town Square website to activate your account. There is also an APP, which comes in handy, but you have to initalize your account through the website. Our new management company, Goodwin & Company, uses this portal for all communication. It is important to register so you can continue getting newsletters and all  pertinent HOA communication. Your account is set-up with one email. If you want multiple emails per household, follow these steps:

  • Click on your name at the top right-hand corner of the page.
  • Select "Occupants" from the drop-down menu.
  • On the right-hand corner of the page click on " Create Occupant".
  • Once you create the profile it will allow you to send the tenant an invite.

Q: Is there a neighborhood directory? A: We do not have one at this time.

Q: Is there a list of recommended contractors?

A: Yes, but the contractors are not endorsed by the HOA. This is simply a list neighbors have put together. You can find a copy on the portal under Documents/FAQ or get a copy from Linda Burton, Communications Chair.

MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION

Property Management advises the need for a heat detector in the attic that is hard-wired to your security system. If  a fire starts in the attic (e.g. lightning strike) it will NOT  burn through the ceramic tiles on the  roof. It will smolder and burn until the ceiling drops out and then it is too late. Check with your security company to make sure one is installed.

Q: Can contractors work on the weekend?

A: Contractors must be out by 5:00PM on Saturday and no work is allowed on Sunday.

Q: Can Emergency Vehicles get in through the back gates?

A: There is a Knox Box at the Cook Ranch and 377 entrances. This is a Rapid Access System which provides non-destructive emergency access to commercial and residential properties.

Q: When can I remove the stakes from around my trees?

A: With most small trees you can remove stakes after one year; larger trees might require stakes left in place for two years. You can test to see if a stake can be removed by moving the trunk of the tree and watching for movement of the root ball. No movement means you no longer need the stake.

Q: Is there a list of kids in the neighborhood that want to babysit, dog walk, pick up mail, help with holiday decorations, etc.?

A: Yes! You can find this on the portal. If you would like to be added to the list, please contact Kim Richwine at krichwine71@gmail.com

Q: How do I update my approved guest list?

A: Update your list with the security guards.
